The Morning Advertiser have taken the f2c U-25's survey onboard yesterday and printed the truth of what the younger generation think and want, much, I would imagine, to the chagrin of ASH, CRUK et al.
We interviewed 1,312 people under the age of 25 as to their opinions. All were guaranteed anonymity which each team felt gave us totally honest answers.
Only 11.4% objected to being in the company of smokers when socialising.
93% stated that the ban had not deterred them from smoking.
85% said that the smoking ban had disrupted their social habits.
With all the information now available only 7% believed that SHS posed any form of health threat!
They were almost unanimous in declaring pubs/clubs should have smoking rooms and/or licensees the choice of. This agrees with the WMCIU survey conducted late last year where 98% agreed with the same two questions!
With the latest survey showing that licensees themselves (82%) want choice as to how they run their businesses, is it not time for this supposed coalition of liberalism & restoration of rights to finally reform this Draconian smoking ban and allow people the freedom2choose for themselves?
ASH & Co will no doubt pour scorn on both surveys but how can they in reality? We do not 'create public consultations' by using government agencies such as Smokefree NE, NW etc. We do not send out 'x',000 postcards with predetermined answers ready printed and a 'tick box'!
Freedom2choose conduct their surveys on the streets of towns & cities, talking to real people, the one's going about their daily business - the working classes. That is where the truth lays and that's why the
Truth Hurts!
