As recently reported the UK and Ireland are the only 2 countries within the EU that operate a blanket smoking ban.
Guess what?
Since our recent report, Bulgaria has now u-turned on its decision to implement a blanket smoking ban for the obvious reasons that we so often state.
With an election looming, have any of our main three political parties got the guts to accommodate the entire electorate with a slight amendment to this barbaric policy?
With Ireland being one of the PIIGS and the UK not being far behind, surely it’s a vote winner that would contribute and save billions for the government ‘coffers’ and the health of many?
All the other EU countries seem tough enough to accommodate everyone and think this way. Why is the UK and Ireland so different?
